She is back in the news. But this time on lesser charges. The Fayetteville woman that previously gained notoriety as the “Deadly Magnolia” was arrested Sept. 12 for possession of Vicodin (hydrocodone) without a prescription.

Mary Radcliff Taylor, 71, was charged after being pulled over for driving off the roadway on Grady Avenue, according to Maj. Kevin Gooding.

The officer noticed pill bottles in her purse while she was removing her driver’s license, Gooding said. Taylor had prescriptions in her name for two of the bottles, but not for third, said Gooding. That bottle contained 19 tablets of Vicodin, he said.

Taylor was arrested in February for “doctor shopping” and charged with receiving 3,700 hydrocodone tablets in the past 21 months.

Taylor, formerly Patricia Allanson, is famous, perhaps infamous according to some, and has been the subject of an American Justice television documentary and a book.

Taylor’s motives were questionable when her husband went to prison for the murder of his parents. She later served time for the attempted murder of her husband’s grandparents. And after her release, the Deadly Magnolia was suspected of attempting to kill an elderly couple so she could benefit from their changes to their will.
