Fayette 4-H participates in county fairThe Fayette County 4-H Rabbit and Cavy (Guinea pig) Club held a show at the Fayette County Kiwanis Fair on Tuesday, Oct. 10. The show was judged by Donald Peterson, a registered American Rabbit Breeders Association cavy judge. The Fayette 4-H Rabbit and Cavy Club is for students ages five and up who own rabbits or guinea pigs. Area merchant gladly gives backWhen the Fayette County Barons’ Ball Silent Auction committee went to local vendors asking for donations for the Barons’ Ball silent auction, they were hoping for some inspiring gifts. They didn’t know they would come across an inspiring story as well. The group of volunteers that called upon Laser Regeneration in Tyrone received a generous donation from owner Sharon Wilber, a gift certificate for services at her Laser Regeneration skin treatment facility. Wilber explained to the volunteers that she was only too happy to donate to the American Cancer Society (ACS), because of the generous donation ACS has made to her daughter Morgan and because she is so grateful for Morgan’s return to good health. The daughter of Sherry Whitman and Steve Rhodes, she is a 2006 honor graduate of Starr’s Mill Hill School. Roth enters Basic Cadet TrainingEvan G. Roth has entered Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo., in preparation to enter the first academic year at the academy. The six-week, two-phased orientation program must be successfully completed by the cadets prior to entering their freshman year.
