Project Playhouse, a benefit for Atlanta HomeAid, an organization that helps the homeless, just held their third annual event. Builders from all over the state of Georgia were invited to create playhouses that were small scale replicas of standard houses or buildings.

A Fayetteville builder, George Kritko of Country Classic Builders and his wife, Vickie, plus Lydia Ellis, a local artist, created a replica of Fayetteville’s historic courthouse. They won three first place awards for Best Historical Accuracy, Mirror Image Award, and Craftsmanship. That was followed by two second place awards; one for landscape design, the other for architectural design.

This playhouse has yet to go to auction, with bids starting at $8,000. Other trade partners were architect Jim Clipper with Grrell Assoc. & Co., Interior Designer, Serendipity Baby & Co. and landscape architect Coggins Landscaping & Co., plus numerous other trade partners. You can see the courthouse every Saturday or Sunday in the Georgia Mall and purchase raffle tickets or tickets to the Black Tie auction.
