Charged with stealing $9,400 from athletic booster club account

The former president of the Booth Middle School Athletic Booster Club has been arrested for stealing about $9,400 from the organization, police said.

Matt Trebuchon, 40, of Belvedere Lane, Peachtree City was charged with two counts of theft by conversion, police said. Police expect to file additional charges as they look into other activity on the booster club’s account.

Public Health Continues Mosquito Surveillance

District 4 Public Health Services reminds the public to stay vigilant about preventing mosquito bites. Historically in Georgia, the majority of West Nile Virus cases are reported in the early fall months. So far this year, surveillance data gathered by the Georgia Department of Human Resources Division of Public Health confirms horses in Bibb and Lowndes counties have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis. Human biting mosquitoes carrying West Nile Virus have also been found in Fulton County. The season for West Nile Virus begins in early summer but can last well into the fall.

Despite the threat of bad weather Friday afternoon, Tracy’s Night at Dixieland Fun Park in Fayetteville saw hundreds of participants riding rides and having fun, all the while raising $10,000 for the Tracy Russo Medical Fund.

Vegetables, meats and desserts are prepared fresh each day. The green beans, for instance, are cooked for two hours, and sweet potatoes are peeled by hand for the sweet potato soufflé. New sauces are prepared each day, as well as fresh slices of ham and turkey breast. All desserts are made daily from scratch.
