Windridge fire in Fayetteville

As a significant electrical storm rolled across Fayette for the second night in a row, fire crews battled a blaze at a home in south Fayetteville Friday evening.

The fire caused significant damage to the roof and interior of the home at 125 Windridge in the Lakemont subdivision. Because the fire was in the city limits, the Fayetteville Fire Department responded to the scene and was assisted by crews from the Fayette County Department of Fire and Emergency Services.

Thursday night's storm brought three structure fires set off by lightning, officials said.
