Sports fans in Fayette County got a little taste of The Citizen’s first podcast starting last Saturday afternoon when a demo episode of “The Citizen Sports Blitz” was posted to the website, www.thecitizen.com.

The show officially begins its run this Saturday, and new episodes will be recorded and posted every Saturday morning for the duration of the school year.

“The Citizen Sports Blitz,” hosted by Sports Editor Michael Boylan and featuring Staff Writer Kevin Wandra, is a program that covers all levels of sports in Fayette County.

In addition to game recaps from the football games covered the night before, there will also be post-game interviews and previews of next week’s football games.

Boylan and Wandra will also review the results from softball, volleyball and cross country, relay the submitted scores for freshman, JV, middle school and recreation leagues and discuss big games in college football and pro sports.
