Serenbe is pleased to announce the launch of three new art programs in the community: the Serenbe Photography Center, Serenbe Playhouse and Fine Arts Workshops. Each has workshops and/or performances scheduled that are open to the public.

Serenbe Photography Center is a program of the non-profit Serenbe Institute, and was formed with the purpose of creating a world-class photography resource providing three important functions: 1) a print lab with traditional color and black & white printmaking, and digital printmaking (a unique resource for the South), giving photographers and working artists the ability to make high quality prints and reproductions at an affordable cost while maintaining control over the creative process; 2) a variety of photography workshops for amateurs to professional photographers, including all types of photography and classic printing process and featuring nationally renowned instructors; 3) a year-round hub and resource for photographers to share ideas and find support and inspiration in pursing their photographic endeavors. The Serenbe Photography Center was created when the consortium of Atlanta area photographers, including director and noted photographer Kathryn Kolb, from the Photographer’s Print Studio joined with the Serenbe Institute to create this non-profit resource, which is unique to the region. The grand opening of the Serenbe Photography Center is Saturday, March 13, 5–8 p.m. The public may tour the facility, meet the staff and director, and view a photography exhibition featuring local and national artists.

Serenbe Playhouse, in partnership with the non-profit Serenbe Institute, launches its inaugural season this summer with three productions. Demonstrating its commitment to theatre for all ages, the season opens with The Jungle Book on “The Treehouse in the Woods Stage” where audiences will be seated under the stars and surrounded by preserved forestland. The musical John and Jen will kick off the mainstage productions on the Serenbe Courtyard Stage, followed by a modern adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare’s R & J.

Fine Arts Workshops at Serenbe are an initiative of Serenbe resident artists Michael David, Gail Foster and Tom Swanston, along with partner Scott Browning. These workshops provide exceptional educational opportunities in the fine arts for emerging and established artists and lifelong learners. “We are thrilled to welcome these three new art programs to Serenbe. They further our commitment to the arts and providing world-class cultural experiences for residents of Serenbe, Chattahoochee Hills, Atlanta and beyond,” says Serenbe founder Steve Nygren. “These new programs join existing programs of the non-profit Serenbe Institute, plus the art galleries in the community.”
