• The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers in the Coweta County and Carroll County areas to assist with the Road to Recovery Program. Volunteers will be drivers to assist cancer patients who need transportation to the location for their radiation and/or chemotherapy treatments.The patients involved have no other means to access the treatment that is essential to their recovery. • Canine Assistants, a non-profit organization that raises and trains service dogs for children and adults with physical disabilities, seizure disorders or other special needs, is seeking volunteers in the Peachtree City area. Volunteers will raise awareness about service dogs and disabilities by doing presentations for businesses and organizations, disability awareness programs in schools, animal assisted therapy and fund raising. The facility is located in Alpharetta, Ga. and dogs are placed with recipients all over the country at no charge.

• The Children of Promise Mentoring Program is a mentoring program for children affected by incarceration; we are looking for those children as well as adults to be a positive role model in the life a child. To quality as a mentee, you must have the following: 1) Have at least one parent who is incarcerated; 2) Reside in South Fulton, Clayton, Henry, Fayette County; 3) Complete the application process; 4) Agree to one-year commitment to the program. To quality as a mentor, you must have the following: 1)18 years of age or older; 2) Reside in metro Atlanta; 3) Complete the application and screening process; 4) Agree to one-year commitment to the program. • The Fayette County 4-H needs parent volunteers or any other adult who enjoys working with fifth-grade age students.
