The Fayette County High School Band Boosters announce that the 2010 Miss Pride Pageants will be held Mar. 12 and 13.

Historically, a cash prize has been presented to the high school Miss Pride winner. The Band Boosters are pleased to announce that for 2010, they are offering a scholarship to the winner of the high school Miss Pride pageant rather than a cash prize. The amount of the scholarship will be announced closer to the date of the pageant.

Keeping with tradition, the Jr. Miss Pride Pageant will be held on Friday night, at 8 p.m. and the Miss Pride Pageant will be held on Saturday at 8 p.m.. The Tiny Miss Pride, Little Miss Pride and Young Miss Pride Pageants will be held on Saturday beginning at 11a.m.. The pageants are only open to girls that are residents of Fayette County, ages 3-4 and grades K-12. Contestant hopefuls must reside in Fayette County and be 3 years of age by September 1, 2009. There is no talent or swimsuit competition.

Girls will compete in semi-formal to formal style dress. Little girls may wear a formal style dress or dressy little girl dress. It is a request of the Band Boosters and the Pageant Directors that the girls look age appropriate.
