Last night and all day today, Coweta County road crews have worked to address the remaining black ice and slick spots on Coweta roads.

With the weather we are still expecting and the temperature to drop again tonight, we expect to continue to see slick and dangerous spots in many areas of the county, at least until the weather pattern changes, said county spokesperson Patricia Palmer.

Because of this, we are encouraging citizens to stay home and off the roadways as much as possible and to use extreme caution when they have to be out this weekend. The melting and refreezing will continue to create dangerous driving conditions in many areas, Palmer said.
