The Coweta County School System at this time is monitoring forecasts from the National Weather Service that indicate precipitation will arrive sometime in the late afternoon. Therefore, schools will remain open and on their normal schedules on Thursday during normal operating hours (2:30 p.m. for elementary schools, 3:30 for middle and high schools).

** All after school activities involving students on Thursday, January 7th have been cancelled. This includes practices, events, games and meetings involving Coweta County School students.

** The daily After-School Program for elementary school students has NOT been cancelled at this time, and will operate through its regularly-scheduled hours.

More information regarding school operations on Friday, January 8 will be forthcoming as conditions develop throughout the day and evening.

Parents and employees should assume that school is in session and operating on a normal schedule on Friday unless the Coweta County School System website carries information to the contrary and/or local TV and radio stations have been notified of closings by school system officials.

The Coweta County School System will notify parents of school closing as early as possible by automated phone call, and by postings on local television, radio stations and websites. School cancellation decisions are made early on school mornings, by no later than 6:00 a.m.
