Mr. and Mrs. Kyle Mark Bartels of Peachtree City announce the engagement of their daughter, Megan MaryAnne Bartels, to Capt. William Wesley Shelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay Shelton III, of Memphis, Tenn. The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Mrs. Joyce Haselhorst Audiss and the late Dale Warren Audiss of Butte, Neb. and of Mrs. Beverly Magdanz Bennett and Gerald Wilmer Bartels both of Elk Grove, Calif. She is a 2002 graduate of McIntosh High School and a 2006 magna cum laude graduate of Rhodes College where she received a degree in business administration and played four years of varsity volleyball with the Rhodes Lynx. She is currently a senior financial analyst with Mercer Capital in Memphis, Tenn., and will continue to work in this capacity for Mercer Capital from Manhattan, Kan., after her marriage. The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Harriet Martin Shelton and the late Henry Clay Shelton Jr., of Memphis, Tenn. and of Mrs. Ruth Kennedy Gravatt of Greeneville, Tenn. and William Gallagher of Effort, Pa. He is a1999 graduate of Memphis University School and a 2004 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor of science degree, majoring in American politics. He was a four year member of the Men’s Army Rugby Club at West Point. He will be stationed at Fort Riley, Kan. A Feb. 6, 2010, wedding is planned at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Memphis, Tenn. |
