It’s just about all over except for the voting. Tyrone’s only contested council race pitting incumbent Grace Caldwell against former planning Commissioner Ken Matthews is down to the wire with votes coming Tuesday.

Post 4 incumbent Councilwoman Grace Caldwell reported Oct. 23 that she had received a total of $200 in campaign contributions during the campaign reporting period. That amount came in separate contributions of less than $101, the amount required for itemization. Caldwell’s filing also stated that her expenditures totaled $1,217.88. Those costs were for items such as flyers, signs and magnetic signs.

Post 4 challenger Ken Matthews reported Oct. 21 that he had received contributions totaling $1,334.38. Of that amount $120 came in the form of separate contributions of less than $101, while the balance was his own money.

Matthews claimed a total of $1,194.38 in expenditures for items such as signs, t-shirts and postcards.
