The Tyrone Police Criminal Investigations Division on Sept. 22 obtained five theft by deception warrants for Rob McPherson, owner of Kennesaw-based Great American Roofing. This came after the investigation of several complaints from citizens who gave McPherson deposits for work that was never performed, said Police Chief Brandon Perkins.

Perkins said the complaints surfaced after McPherson arrived at people’s homes, provided an estimate for the work and obtained a deposit. Affected residents said that McPherson never returned to do the work.

Perkins said there are other instances where some work was performed but not completed. Those are civil cases, Perkins said, and are not included in the criminal charges.

McPherson is currently incarcerated in another metro Atlanta county on similar charges. He will be transferred into the custody of Tyrone Police once his charges are answered in that jurisdiction, Perkins said.
