Vince Rossetti was raised in Baltimore, MD which is also where he started his family and building career. In 1964 he worked with Jim Ryan at Ryland Homes in the nation’s first planned community in Columbia, MD. He later moved his family to Houston, Texas to help Ryland Homes start up The Woodlands, another planned community type development. When he found out about Peachtree City he decided he would strike out on his own and move his family to Fayette County. The year was 1974. Richard Nixon was President and interest rates hit almost 10 percent that year. Since then we have had seven more Presidents and interest rates as high as 18.5% in 1981.

Rossetti learned pretty quickly that customers liked to have a lot of input on the design and detail of their homes. While most large builders weren’t very flexible when it came to design changes and modifications to floor plans, Rossetti decided to focus on doing presales and allowing the customers to be involved in the process from start to finish. Not only did this make for satisfied customers, it was a much less risky way of doing business as the sales contract was already in place before the start of construction.

In 1979, Vince’s eldest son, Michael, came on board with the company and the stage was set for the growth of Ravin Homes, Inc. With Vince in charge of the home production and Michael controlling the operations of the company and with Peachtree City really just beginning to take off, Ravin Homes experienced tremendous growth through the 1980’s.

Rossetti has always had a strong sense of family. This is evident through the fact that, at some time or another, all seven of his children, and his wife, Connie, have worked with Ravin Homes. Ravin Homes is truly a family success story.

While Ravin Homes is not a massive, regional home builder, the Rossetti’s have built homes in 58 communities throughout Peachtree City, Fayette County and the south side of Atlanta. Ravin has built homes for literally thousands of families over the years; several dozen of which have built multiple homes with Ravin.

The Fink family built with Ravin Homes in 1990.

”We are still in that home”, said Janet Fink, who has been a real estate agent for over 10 years. “I’ve had the opportunity to tour countless homes in Fayette and Coweta counties. When we built with Ravin Homes, they gave us the ability to customize their original plan to suit our needs and the fit has worked for our family for over 18 years. We’ve done the routine maintenance, but overall, the construction and design is time tested. At the end of the day, I enjoy coming home. We would build with Ravin Homes again.”

Through the 1990’s and early 2000’s Ravin continued building in various neighborhoods in Peachtree City and also in several phases of Stonebriar in Fayetteville. This was a time when the housing market in Fayette County was booming as thousands of families moved here for great schools and great lifestyle. At the same time, Michael Rossetti was working through the challenges of getting the development plans and approvals in place for his Cedarcroft development; which is located off of what is now MacDuff Parkway. The initial phase if Cedarcroft opened in 2001.

More recently Ravin has continued their residential success through two award winning developments in Fayetteville, The Villages at Lafayette Park next to the amphitheater downtown, and The Estates of Stonebriar West off Lester Road. Ravin is also building in the last affordable new home development inside Peachtree City – Cedarcroft Phase III.

Additionally, Ravin has ventured into commercial development/construction and commercial renovation projects in Peachtree City, Fayetteville and Fairburn. Ravin has been the recipient of multiple Diamond Builder Awards, which highlights builders with no call backs on the warranty policy they provide all of their customers. Ravin also received an award from Peachtree City for their renovation of what is now the Comcast building on Dividend Drive.

Michael Rossetti served as President of the Midwest Georgia Home Builders Association for the 1984-1985 term. Ravin has been a member since 1975.
After over 50 years of building homes Vince Rossetti retired from the day to day operations of Ravin Homes in the mid 1990’s. He still likes to build things though, as he is an avid furniture maker. He builds furniture for his children and grandchildren.

Currently, Ravin Homes’ management team consists of Michael Rossetti as President, with DeSales Rossetti deGolian and Roch deGolian as vice presidents.

Ravin Homes continues to strive to meet the needs of the customer through their commitment to quality and customer service. This includes their philosophy of working with the customer through the building process instead of being strictly a spec home builder. This philosophy has been key to Ravin’s endurance through tough markets and will carry them through the current market slowdown.

As Vince Rossetti said when asked about the current market conditions, “It’ll come back; it always does!” and he should know.
