David Weekley Homes at SummerGrove offers an investment advantage to home buyers with a new Green Home program that reduces a home’s energy consumption and the resulting environmental impact. The new energy efficient features, focusing on heating and air conditioning, are offered at no additional cost to home buyers.
The David Weekley Green Homes, certified by the national Environments for Living program, can save up to 50% more heating and air conditioning usage than a similar home built to 2004 building code standards, according to IRS guidelines.

“Many customers desire not only homes constructed with an emphasis on energy efficiency,” said David Weekley Personal Home Consultant Kristen Cunningham of The Home Source Realtors, “but they also want to be good stewards of the environment. The David Weekley Green Homes addresses both those customer requests.”

The David Weekley Green Homes are one of the top-tier programs - Diamond level - offered by Environments for Living. Buyers of David Weekley Green Homes built at SummerGrove since January 1, 2008 receive a certificate indicating the average yearly maximum energy usage for heating and air conditioning guaranteed by Environments for Living, based on the size, number of windows, etc. per home.

“Buyers are better equipped to budget a home’s energy costs,” noted David Weekley Personal Home Consultant Verkina Parrish of The Home Source Realtors. “In addition, a certified energy efficient home is more attractive to future buyers when a home is sold.”

“The Green Home program and is the next step to David Weekley’s Healthy Home program as customers become more aware of energy consumption,” added Cunningham.
