Former PTC soldier killed by IEDA Special Forces soldier who grew up in Peachtree City died Wednesday, one day after his vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan, according to the U.S. Army. Sgt. First Class Shawn P. McCloskey, 33, a Green Beret in the Special Forces, was conducting a mounted patrol in support of combat operations in the Afghan city of Ghur Ghuri when the explosion occurred Tuesday, according to a news release from the U.S. Army.
