Sheriff:
Marshals making unlawful arrests
County
marshals making traffic arrests are acting outside the scope of their
legal authority and may be placing the county in jeopardy of lawsuits,
Fayette County Sheriff Randall Johnson wrote to the Fayette County Commission
Thursday.

Rebecca Watts, reference
specialist at the Peachtree City Library, received her master's degree
in information science from Florida State University Aug. 2. She is
the third staff member at the Peachtree City Library to hold a master's
degree accredited by the American Library Association. As such, Watts
is now eligible to apply for Georgia State Librarian certification.

Village rape suspect related to victim, police say
A Peachtree City
man has been arrested for raping a woman at the Harmony Village Apartments
Wednesday morning and then beating her and attempting to rape her a
second time later in the afternoon, police said.
