Harmony Village rape suspect related to victim, police say A Peachtree City man has been arrested for raping a woman at the Harmony Village Apartments Wednesday morning and then beating her and attempting to rape her a second time later in the afternoon, police said. Carlos A. Ramirez Munoz, 29, of Peachtree City is related to the victim, said police chief James Murray. Munoz has been staying at the apartment complex for about a month with family members, Murray said. The rape took place after the victim's husband left for work in the morning, Murray said. Then when Munoz returned in the evening, he tried to rape the victim again and roughed her up before she called 911, the chief added. Officers responded quickly to the scene to put Munoz in custody, Murray said. The victim was treated for her injuries and released from the hospital, Murray said. Munoz is charged with rape, attempted rape, cruelty to children and simple battery (family violence). The evening incident was witnessed by the victim's 5-year-old daughter, which is the reason police filed the cruelty to children charge. John Munford
