Expert: contaminated Fayette water from airport spill could harm unborn babies

A spill of 180,000 gallons of deicing fluid into one of Fayette County's main water supplies in January may pose a risk to unborn babies whose mothers drank the contaminated water, according to an Emory University pediatric health expert.

Local girls fare well at region track meet

The Girls Region 4-AAAAA track meet took place at Starr's Mill and wrapped up Monday evening and though Riverdale finished in first place, the local teams gave a good showing. Fayette County finished fifth overall, while Starr's Mill placed seventh, East Coweta placed ninth and McIntosh finsihed 10th.

McIntosh and Starr's Mill soccer teams meet tonight for region championship

If you want to watch some great soccer tonight, head over to McIntosh High School where Starr's Mill's boys and girls face off against McIntosh's boys and girls for the region championship.

Our choices affect not only us, but also those who come after us

Confederate Memorial Day is coming up in a day or two and will pass unnoticed in most of the country and in much of the South. However, the occasion causes me to think about choices and the effect they have on people and on the generations to come. I have heard it said that we are the sum of our choices but I would modify that and say that we are the sum of our choices and the choices of those who have come before us.
