Sunday alcohol sales in Tyrone will go to voters in Nov.The vote is in and the potential to have alcohol served by the glass on Sundays in Tyrone will be left up to the voters in November. Those were the words of Tyrone Mayor Don Rehwaldt in relation to an agenda item at the Aug. 20 town Council meeting that could ask voters in November if they want Sunday alcohol sales by the glass. That counter proposal came Thursday, with the council voting to fall back on the original 2007 proposal that would have the town spend considerably less money on the project. Judge dismisses suit against TyroneThe Town of Tyrone seemed to come out on top with the recent ruling in U.S. District Court over a 2007 complaint filed by Dick Shelley over he said were unfair and illegal zoning practices. But Shelley claimed victory, saying Judge Jack T. Camp’s ruling centered on only 1 of the 12 counts. Tyrone police solve entering auto crimesOn the morning of March 27 officers from the Tyrone Police Department found themselves writing numerous reports of stolen items from vehicles in the Pendleton subdivision. In all, more than a half dozen vehicles had been entered with numerous items missing. Some of the items were GPS units, laptops, stereo equipment, game consoles and jewelry.
