On the morning of March 27 officers from the Tyrone Police Department found themselves writing numerous reports of stolen items from vehicles in the Pendleton subdivision. In all, more than a half dozen vehicles had been entered with numerous items missing. Some of the items were GPS units, laptops, stereo equipment, game consoles and jewelry.

Tyrone Police Chief Brandon Perkins said the investigation led to a Paulding County man, 18 year-old Arthur Mabry, who was still in possession of some of the stolen items. Mabry was immediately placed under arrest and is currently in the Paulding County jail on other charges, Perkins said. Although Mabry lives in Paulding County, he has ties to the Tyrone area. Mabry’s girlfriend, 18 year-old Ashley Hullett, not only lives in Tyrone but lives in the Pendleton subdivision, Perkins said.

Perkins said most of the items have been retrieved at this time, but some items that were not pawned were traded at drug houses in the Griffin area. Mabry has been charged with nine counts of entering auto and two counts of burglary, said Perkins, while Hullett has been charged with theft by receiving stolen property. All of these charges are felonies.

What a sad commentary.....two 18 year-olds, charged with felonies, on a path to personal self-destruction. Hopefully, the parents are letting them think long and hard behind bars, rather than bailing them out for whatever justification they might have. Let justice be served, and perhaps those charged will eventually turn their lives around.

Although I have great respect for the Tyrone Police Department, they did not solve this crime as indicated in the article. The parents of the suspects turned their children into the police and insisted they cooperate in order to recover any items possible. I know this was a big deal to the Town of Tyrone since there is not that much crime in the the town; however, credit should be given to the parents of these children since insisted their children do the right thing and face the consequences of their actions.

And a couple of Billboards, like Victor Hill had out on Hwy 74, with a picture of Cheif Perkins, in his full dress, with all his colors and medals on his chest, and tassels on his shoulders... Good Collar...PEACE

Shocked they actually did some real police work, instead of working all day at the speed traps.

Guess its time to give Tyrone Police a big attaboy!
