It all depends on what the people want. Those were the words of Tyrone Mayor Don Rehwaldt in relation to an agenda item at the Aug. 20 town Council meeting that could ask voters in November if they want Sunday alcohol sales by the glass.

Rehwaldt said Friday that several restaurants last year had asked to have voters get the chance to approve or disapprove the measure. He said the Town Council was amenable to the idea but were too late in completing the required paperwork to have it included on the 2008 ballot.

Rehwaldt said the town has until the end of the month to get the paperwork to the county Elections Division for inclusion on the November ballot.

If passed by voters, Sunday alcohol sales by the glass would be permitted between 12:30 p.m. and midnight.
