A convenience store in north Fayette was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon, police said.

Coleman’s, located on Ga. Highway 92 North, was targeted by a black male driving a red Chevy Blazer, said Lt. Col. Bruce Jordan of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.

The following arrests were reported by local law enforcement agencies for the past week. All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty.

Tyrone Planning Commission Aug. 31 voted to recommend the annexation and rezoning of a 16.69-acre tract previously objected to by Fayette County. Planning commissioners agreed to recommend the annexation with the condition that only one residence be built on the site and that the city receive a quit claim deed for a 25-foot right-of-way for future road improvements.

A motorcyclist led sheriff’s deputies on a brief chase Friday afternoon, attempting twice to take out the lead pursuit vehicle, which happened to be driven by Fayette County Sheriff Randall Johnson, police said.

Fayette County school officials jubilantly released the school system’s Scholastic Aptitude Test scores Tuesday.
