Schools Combine Forces for Common GoalMore than 200 racers, organizers and spectators showed up for the first annual Great Pumpkin Race, a joint effort organized by Flat Rock Middle School and Sandy Creek High School, held recently on the cross country course at Sandy Creek. Teachers, administrators, students and parents from the sister schools joined forces in an effort to raise money for technology services at both schools. As a result, more than $2000 was raised by the 1-mile walk and 5k walk/run that took place on Saturday, October 13. All race participants received a t-shirt and awards were given to the top three male and female winners of each age group in the 5k run.
