A week from now
you'll most likely be enjoying a day off from work as you celebrate
the Fourth of July. For many local residents this means taking in all
of the Peachtree City activities which include the parade, Fire Department
demonstrations, a concert from the Peachtree Wind Ensemble and the fireworks.
There are some new wrinkles to this year's events though, including
a new parade route and some new parade rules.

Fayetteville police officer who is under investigation for an alleged
assault in the city that stemmed from a fracas at a Peachtree City bar
in March has resigned following his arrest early Thursday morning in
Peachtree City for driving under the influence of alcohol, police said.

OK after being run over by golf cart
A 4-year-old girl
suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon when she was run over by
a golf cart that she jumped off of while it was parked in a driveway,
police said.

police looking into 15 vehicles that were entered overnight
Peachtree City police
are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and
conviction of the persons responsible for a rash of entering auto cases
last week.

Peachtree City employees will be rewarded with up to $1,000 in bonuses
if they apply for and are successful in receiving grant money for city
programs and services.

City resident serving in Iraq is seeking the help of local residents
in donating medical and school supplies to help several villages near
where he is based in northern Iraq.

180-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder from Starr's Mill High
School, has signed a National Letter-of-Intent to play college baseball

month, we arrived in the Fayette/Coweta area from Colorado to assume
the pastorate of a 4-year old-congregation. I was 32, my wife a year
younger. Jason was 11, John was 8, and James was 2.
