Watson: Told differing stories to wife's friends Murder defendant Jim
Watson in a taped interview played in court Tuesday said he told different
versions of his wife's disappearance to friends "to get them off
my back." As detectives began
to search Jim and Beverley Watson's house for clues about the missing
woman's whereabouts, their daughter noticed something in the garage that
may be the only link between her father and the crime scene where Beverley
Watson's remains were found dust on her mother's car, according to testimony
in Jim Watson's Fulton County murder trial.
As detectives searched
his home collecting possible evidence of foul play after he reported his
wife missing, Jim Watson was cooperative, according to two officials from
the Fayette County Sheriff's Department. For the first time
Friday, Jim Watson spoke aloud in court as he responded to an inquiry
from the judge presiding in the murder case against him. The Fayette County
Sheriff's Department could become a lot more crowded later this year if
the Fayette County Commission adopts the department's proposed budget
of nearly $13 million. since the Fayette County High School Class of 1947 graduated and they
still get together to recall old times. There were 50 graduates that year,
nine of whom are now deceased, and 19 were present for the most recent
reunion. Forgetting to unload
his landscaping equipment from the back of his truck may cost Fayette
County High School junior Jamie Gilman the chance to go to prom ... and
it may cost him his passing grades as well. The Tyrone Town Council
met last Thursday night and tentatively approved a 2002-2003 budget, including
the Capital Improvement Program and Sewer Enterprise Fund, of $2,749,731.
Tyrone's
payment of the fire impact fee has got council member Ronnie Cannon a
little hot. During
the staff comment portion of the Tyrone Town Council meeting last Thursday
night, town manager Barry Amos told the council about the results of an
investigation into whether or not the construction of Handley Fields destroyed
wetlands.
For
the third year in a row, Peeples Elementary took top honors in the Fayette
