Fayette republicans announce schedule for candidate qualifying

The Fayette County Republican Party will be conducting candidate qualifying for those offices that will appear on the August 20, 2002 Republican General Primary ballot on June 19-21, 2002, as mandated by state law.

Qualifying will be held between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19 and Thursday, June 20 and from 9 a.m. until 12 noon on Friday, June 21 at the Fayette County Republican Party Headquarters, 125 Commerce Drive, Suite I in Fayetteville.

The following local offices will appear on the August 20 ballot: County Commission Post 4, County Commission Post 5, Board of Education Post 4, Board of Education Post 5.

Persons desiring to run as a republican for State Senate, State House or Congress should contact the Georgia Republican Party at (404) 257-5559.

The following qualifying fees must be paid to the local party in order to be placed on the primary ballot: County Commission Post 4 - $529.51, County Commission Post 5 - $529.51, Board of Education Post 4 - $180.00, Board of Education Post 5 - $180.00.
