School affidavit deadline is December 18

The Coweta County Board of Education office at 237 Jackson Street in Newnan will stay open until 7 p.m. on December 11 and 13, to help parents file affidavits of residency before the end of the first semester.

Court of appeals rejects county’s firearms ordinance

The Georgia Court of Appeals is sending a Coweta County ordinance back to the drawing board.

On Tuesday, the court sided with Georgia Carry.org in its case against the county.

Sturbaum handily beats King in PTC runoff

Doug Sturbaum handily won the runoff election for the Post 2 seat in Peachtree City.

With all precincts reporting, Sturbaum took 838 votes (61 percent) while opponent Mike King took 522 votes (38 percent).
