High school business class donates to DFCSA recently developed project is helping school aged children receive adequate clothing. The project is called Appropriate Clothing For All School Children (A.C.F.A.S.C.). The goal of Project ACFASC is to make sure that no child in Fayette County goes to school without adequate clothing. Mrs. Gertrude Coleman, of Fairburn, has received the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Community Service Award, presented by the Fayette-Starr's Mill Chapter of Fayette County. Coleman is an energetic, caring person who during the past seven years has made over 2,600 sleeping bags for men who use an Atlanta mission when they have no other place to go. She also provides a small pillow, candy, gloves, scarf and religious material at her own expense.

The name might be a mouthful, but the winning baby needs to be nothing more than adorable and available to represent one of the 12 months on the 2007 Barons' Ball Diapers and Denim Calendar. The winning baby's photo will also be featured on the cover of the calendar. The Barons' Ball is an annual fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. He’s an older gentleman, 72 to be exact, and he and his wife, Ea, swim in the pool every day that it is open. The former professor of languages at Hampden-Sydney College loves people and listening to their languages, while also learning their stories and their backgrounds. Meade earns Eagle ScoutNathan Meade, pictured with Scoutmaster Phil Carson, is a Northgate High School junior and a member of Peachtree City Boy Scout Troop 181 who has attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was recognized at a Court of Honor Ceremony at Faith Bible Church recently. The ceremony was attended by fellow Scouts, Scouting leaders, friends, family members and honored guests. Coach Marcellous Johnson, Northgate High School football coach, business teacher, and FCA sponsor, was a guest speaker, along with Faith Bible Church Pastor John Crotts. Local youth, radio host recognizedToni Watkins, the 16 year old host and producer of “The Toni Watkins Show,” was recognized by the Georgia House of Representatives with a resolution just before the close of the 2006 Legislative session.
