Woodson graduates from basic military trainingAir Force Airman 1st Class Philip G. Woodson has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Floy Farr celebrates his 94th birthdayWalter Floy Farr has always lived in the county where he was born and reared. The son of Walter D. and Mattie Ola Trammell Farr he was born May 20, 1912 in the community of Stop, which is just a stone’s throw north of Tyrone. After moving to Tyrone, his dad ran a store with Ed Jackson, and his mother and Mrs. Jackson made hats and dresses on the top floor. The store sold items ranging from groceries to caskets and farm tools. Susan Osborne chairs 2006 Baron’s BallThe American Cancer Society’s fourth annual Baron’s Ball committee is this year chaired by Susan Osborne. Osborne became involved with the American Cancer Society shortly after the first Baron’s Ball when she saw a picture of a friend in the paper that was involved with that Ball and decided she too would like to help. Dukes is the children's librarian at the Peachtree City Library. Council members sold Ghost Pops at Halloween and Valentine treats to raise money for their service project. Breakfast honors volunteers as part of National Voluteer WeekFayette Senior Services held its annual Volunteer Breakfast recently to celebrate National Volunteer Week. The Volunteer Breakfast was held at the Peachtree Wyndham Conference Center.
