Now that I've gotten your attention...

Having debated many times about the terms Racism, Prejudice, and Bigotry, I was intrigued by something I've read about Tribalism that made me have to think long and hard.

OPORTO, Portugal (Reuters) - European Socialists promised on Thursday to work to rebuild Europe's strategic alliance with the United States now that the Democrats control Congress after last month's elections.

I was watching the news over the weekend and saw how Jimmy Carter is trying desperately to get people to come to his funeral. I thought about how sad it is that a man as bright as he was, could have squandered so much of his life looking for power and accolades. He says he wants to be buried in Plains, even though he says he could be buried anywhere. Well, why not in Europe? or In Venezula. Or some other third world country where the dictatorship has be enamored by his socialistic rhetoric?

I am totally amazed at the discussions that I've read on this site regarding the Dixie T-shirt ordeal. Suffice it to say that racial issues are still very prevalent and important in today's times.

An interesting read about the recent history in the Islamic Middle East and why and how the changes there have occured.

I run several listservers for Attorneys. We use them to discuss new laws and matters that are of interest to us.

Its a great way to communicate and to keep the thread going, and to make it understandable.

I happened to attend the "debate/forum" hosted by the Kiwanis and I was sadly disappointed. With all of the vitriol that one reads in the newspaper you would think that some of the candidates would have taken their gloves off and let it all "hang out".

I hoped to pick the brains of you folks in order to find some hidden pearls here in the Atlanta area.

I have company coming soon, and they wanted to see the sites. Having lived here for 27 years, I tend to be blinded by those things I've seen a dozen times. So please give me some feed back of those things you have found or that you recommend as a MUST SEE for visitors.

I wanted to share this with everyone that has had the same problems that I've had.

Eating my wires, raising babies, biting through the soffits, tearing up the insulation and generally just scampering around the ceiling. Argh!

To the Editor:
Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the U.S. might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and once here, to stay indefinitely.

If anyone has them to sell, please let me know. I missed the deadline to buy season passes and would love four seats-together, to this concert. Prefer Saturday night.

I have no dog in this fight. I’m happy with the police protection that we receive in this county and I’m pleased that the county commission is fighting to maintain the high standards we have here as to our housing densities and tax rates.

The County Commission Post position will be old news in the next several weeks, but it will leave behind a story that will be with us for years to come.
