Commuters and Peachtree City residents have a month to go before work is complete on repaving the length of Ga. Highway 74 from I-85 in Fulton County south to Starr's Mill.

Water district seeks comments on draft plans

The Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District, created to develop plans, policies and local model ordinances to protect water quality and public water supplies, protect recreational values of rivers and lakes and minimize the adverse impact of development on waters in and downstream of the 16-county district, has released three draft plans for public comment.

Main Street Newnan's July 4 parade will highlight patriotism. Titled "Celebrate Freedom," it begins today at 6 p.m. in downtown Newnan. Everyone is encouraged to participate and be a part of the celebration.

Young singer gets a chance to shine

With the help of several local professionals, corporations, and schools, the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama, a nonprofit organization dedicated to granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions, recently helped turn a local youngster's dream of becoming a country music star into reality.
