A big bird lands at Falcon Field By CAROLYN CARY ccary@TheCitizenNews.com A big bird landed at Peachtree City's Falcon Field last Thursday evening. No, it wasn't yellow but it did have a wide wingspan. The Great Georgia Air Show hosted the monthly Fayette County Chamber of Commerce After Hours and a part of the program included the landing of a Delta Air Lines ASA Connection airplane. The CRJ7800 is one of 100 new jet planes in the ASA system. ASA employees 5,000 people and is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The plane has a wing span of 76 feet and can cruise at 544 miles per hour. Its 2,945 gallons of fuel will carry it 1,685 miles. Attendees were given a numbered tag and 20 numbers were called out for a ride. The plane came in about 115 miles per hour and took off with its passengers for a 45-minute ride. Heading for Columbus, it flew over West Point Lake and headed back. It was announced that the Great Georgia Air Show will be Sept. 6-7 this year. What do you think of this story?
