A
rezoning proposal for a 124-home subdivision on the southern edge of
Peachtree City on Ga. Highway 74 was denied unanimously by the City
Council Thursday night.

will study Vietnam War in a virtual way
The Newnan High
School Vietnam War class will participate in the Vietnam Veterans Memorial
Fund drive to attach a photograph and remembrance to each entry on the
Virtual Wall this winter, and students need Coweta County citizens'
help in collecting the remembrances.

journey for Odyssey Charter School to open in Coweta County took another
turn Tuesday as the Coweta County Commission refused to accept an emergency

round of state playoffs set for tonight
East
Coweta, Landmark Christian and Starr's Mill all got big wins in the
first round of the state playoffs. The second round games take place
tonight and all three teams are hoping to continue their winning ways.
Starr's
Mill swimmers take second in Conyers
The
Starr's Mill swim team traveled to Conyers for their first meet of the
season on Nov. 23. Both the boys and girls teams placed second overall
behind Wesleyan with a combined point total of 1061 points. Wesleyan's
total score was 1247. Third place went to Salem with 794 points and
fourth to Rockdale County with 259.
Early
part of basketball season continues
The
first part of the high school basketball season continued on Tuesday
night and many local teams ended up on the short end of the stick.
Local
Trout Unlimited chapter reactivates in PTC
The
Flint River Chapter of Trout Unlimited has been reactivated in Peachtree
City, Ga. It was one of the original chapters in Georgia, ad joins the
efforts of other state chapters in supporting Trout Unlimited's mission
of conserving, protecting and restoring North America's trout and salmon
fisheries and their watersheds.

united way to say thanks, give back to south Fulton community

There
is a campaign currently taking place in south Fulton and across the
metro Atlanta region. It is the 2002 United Way campaign. United Way's
metropolitan-wide campaign will run until the end of December and expects
to raise just under $80 million this year.
