Local Trout Unlimited chapter reactivates in PTC The Flint River Chapter of Trout Unlimited has been reactivated in Peachtree City, Ga. It was one of the original chapters in Georgia, ad joins the efforts of other state chapters in supporting Trout Unlimited's mission of conserving, protecting and restoring North America's trout and salmon fisheries and their watersheds. Meetings are held at 6:30 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at Y Knot Sports Bar in Peachtree City. All meetings are open to current and prospective members of Trout Unlimited. Regular, annual membership is $35. Guest speakers who provide interesting and informative presentations about cold water conservation, where and how to fly-fish, how to build fly rods and how to tie flies highlight each meeting. Newly elected officers and board members are Skip Barnette, president, Steve Quinn, vice president, Larry beck, treasurer and Charlie Smith and Joe Bride, board members. Chapter activities in support of Trout Unlimited's mission will include fisheries habitat improvement, organized group fishing trips, youth fly-fishing clinics, learn how to events, the Boy Scouts of America fly fishing Merit Badge program and other events designed to enhance efforts to further the mission of Trout Unlimited. "We know there are a number of people in this area interested in supporting our mission, as well as getting to know other people who share a common interest in cold water conservation and fly fishing," said Flint River Chapter President Skip Barnette.
