Fayetteville First United Methodist Church will sponsor a Southern Gospel concert this Sunday, Nov. 13, beginning at 6 p.m., in the main sanctuary of the church.

First Presbyterian Church of Peachtree City will serve a Thanksgiving feast Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. in Smith Hall. A celebration service will follow at 6 p.m., with music from the children’s choir.

The National Missionary Convention, a gathering of supported missions of the Christian churches and churches of Christ throughout the world, will be Nov.

Stephen Carpenter, a 48-year-old native of Canton, Ohio, recently assumed duties as senior minister at Christ’s Church at Whitewater in Fayetteville.

Area art lovers won’t want to miss the 15th annual art auction at St. Andrew’s In-the-Pines Episcopal Church Saturday, Oct. 29 in the church’s new parish hall. A patron and guest champagne reception will be held prior to the auction. Proceeds will benefit St. Andrew’s in the Pines’ church building and community outreach programs and ministries.

Jessica Bell, a 17-year-old McIntosh High School senior, is leading the efforts at her church to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina. Bell is a member of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church in Sharpsburg.

As a part of Peachtree City United Methodist Church’s Missions Outreach Weekend, last Saturday, Oct. 15, was“Super Service Saturday,” and 140 men, women and youth devoted a day of service to several outreach missions.

The Madrigals adult Sunday school class at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peachtree City will host an open house birthday party for Vance Henkel Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall of the church. Henkel, who lives in Peachtree City, will celebrate his 100th birthday on that day.
