SandySue: City Council Pay Study - The way I see itThis is from Peachtree City Sec. 2.10. Compensation of mayor and councilmembers as fixed; expenses of office allowable. SandySue: Who is building the Coweta side of TDK?I was looking at Coweta County's long range transportation plan. Unless I am missing something I do not see anything about Coweta funding any new roads to connect to TDK. Nothing??? Why are we Fayette County and Peachtree City Funding and obtaining funds for the road on our side? If I read this correctly the developers must be footing the tab for the road on the Coweta side. SandySue: Wells signs - within 150 ft of polls?I went to advance vote on Friday at the Fayette County election office. On my way across the parking lot to vote I came across a black pickup truck with Wells Campaign signs standing up in the back of it. My first thought was: Are there ethics regulations about campaigning withing 150 feet of a poll? SandySue: Any reliable handymen out there? We have been trying to get a door replaced on our house for several months now. Everyone we call has been real nice about saying they will come out, but they never show up! SandySue: Can someone tell me what the fish was for?Did you all receive the "advertisement" or maybe it was an "infomercial" in your mailboxes last weekend that was in the shape of a fish with hook in the mouth? SandySue: Is the Stormwater a tax or a Utility?Am I the only one who is wondering how a Utility can be billed in one lump sum and not be called a tax? SandySue: Online Bill Pay for County TaxesMost citizens in Fayette County are very well educated and most have a computer or computer access. The idea of the internet being used for the paying of taxes in our county is an idea that should not sound foreign in the 21st century. Many people already pay the water bill, electric bill, ect, online. So why not the county taxes? The county commissioner’s office handles all the county taxes including property taxes, vehicle registration, and vehicle tags. There are many pros to this proposition, especially for the professional citizens of Fayette County. The tax commissioner’s office is only open late one day a week, which is a burden to those who have jobs outside of the county. This option would also leave less room for bad checks because the online bill pay option is done using credit cards. Once the payment is made the tax money would be sent directly to the commissioner’s office, with little chance of lost payments. There is a worry though with the commissioner regarding the processing fees that online bill pay companies institute. It would be fair to say that the processing fee should be passed on to the bill payers at least in the beginning. Paying online even with the processing fee does not hamper the fact that it is much more convenient and less time consuming. Ideally later on down the road if this option is granted to the Fayette County citizens the debate of whether the commission office should pay the processing fee can be explored further. I support the tax commissioner on his endeavor to except payments over the internet with a credit card from those who would benefit from it. This will not deny anything from those who want to pay face to face the conventional way with a good old fashion check. SandySue: PTC Council What happened to your individual email addresses?I went out to the Peachtree-city.org website to email my new Mayor and City Council members using the links from the city website and they are gone! (Well if they are there I can not find them) SandySue: Mayor Steve Brown cares about our ChildrenMayor Brown cares about our children! Please do not listen to the naysayer. I can personally sight multiple situations that have personally touched me about Steve Brown’s commitment to our children |
