BOE: We put out a good product from our schools

Fayette County School Board members discovered that their goals and opinions about the school district were fairly well-aligned Saturday, during a one-day retreat held at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel near Hartsfield Airport.

FCHS assignment: The Internet

Fayette County high school students will soon have access to 600 courses via the Internet, making extra course work or make-up courses available before and after school, even at home, Stuart Bennett, assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, told the school board Saturday.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Department's Traffic Enforcement Division, along with Fayette County Safe Kids and the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Occupant Safety Program, will be providing child safety seat technicians at the Back to School Carnival this Saturday, Aug. 21, at the Fayette County Library, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
