Stage set for
election this
fall in Fayetteville Two
Fayetteville City Council members and the mayor
all say they will run for reelection this fall.
The
terms of Mayor Mike Wheat and councilmen Glenn
Brewer and Kenneth Steele end this year, and all
three say they will stand again for their posts.
City
Council Monday officially declared Nov. 2
election day, and set voting times at the usual,
7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the city depot, 240 Lanier
Ave.
If
you want to vote in the election, you must
register by 4:30 p.m. Oct. 4.
If
you want to run for council Post 1 or Post 2 or
the mayor's chair, qualifying is set for 8:30
a.m. Sept. 13 through 4:30 p.m. Sept. 15. The
qualifying fee for council is $180; for mayor
it's $288.
