Goody gets Spirit Award

Goody Products, Peachtree City, received the 2002 Spirit of Industry Award. The Existing Industry Committee of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce gives two awards each year, one for companies with over 50 employees and one for under 50 employees.

PTC recreation department hauls in state, district awards

The Peachtree City Recreation Department recently received state and district honors from the Georgia Recreation and Parks Association for the Luther T. Holt Memorial All Children's Playground.

Bus crash sends seven to hospital

A late afternoon collision Wednesday between a school bus and a car in northern Coweta County sent seven students to area hospitals.

School system buys old Playtex building

The Coweta County School System will soon have all its administrative operations under one roof.

County eases water restrictions

The Coweta County Water and Sewer Department is reducing water restrictions to those imposed by the state of Georgia following action by Newnan Utilities.

New school set for Grantville

If all goes as planned, children should be attending school again in Grantville by the fall of 2004.

Two teams wrap up regular season tonight

This is the final week of the regular season and only two teams have games scheduled for this Friday. Sandy Creek will travel to Newnan to take on the Northgate Vikings, while Landmark Christian will host the Mt. Zion, Carroll Eagles.

Second New Hope 5K a successful race

New Hope Baptist Church held their second annual 5K Run/Walk last Saturday. The race attracted close to 150 participants, which was an increase over last year's turnout. The course is very scneic, traveling past verdant pastures and tranquil lakes. The runners had a beautiful day with ideal temperatures and the fall foliage in full bloom. As a twist this year, the runners ran the course backwards - that is to say counterclockwise, while last year's race was run clockwise.
