No, I eat one steak, skip the chicken, and dodge the greasy spots. However I quit going there and paying for all of the stolen stuff!
They have to raise their prices to make up for it.

If you're eating 6 steaks & taking 5 pounds of chicken home with you (i.e., stealing), then you need to go on a serious diet. Shocked

If you don't control yourself, then you'll end up like this man:

A Mexican tipping the scales at 560 kilograms (1,234 pounds) will be listed as the world's fattest man by the Guinness Book of Records, while a loss of 200 kilos (440 pounds) may make him the man who lost the most weight. (See picture.)

Nothing like Ryans - the food is really 'down home' - and not greasy. The place was packed Sunday! . .and I don't think they let you 'sneak' food - but who knows!

Just to clear up the rumor mill. There was NO murder.

I was told the man had a suicide note on him, and apparently he'd been going through a rough time in his life. If I remember correctly, someone had witnessed him alive moments before the he killed himself ... which leads you away from the path of foul play, i.e. murder.

The Citizen, like many other newspapers, doesn't generally report on suicides but there are exceptions to that rule.

I've recently moved to PTC and took an apt. in AMLI at Kedron Village.
A couple weeks ago there was a crime scene investigation crew in our complex, setup just across from my apt: yellow crime scene tape, CSI people, vans etc...

Nobody knew what was going on and since then no one has heard anything about it in the news or from the property managers.

Now I hear from a collegue that also lives in the complex that it was a murder - suicide in the apartment!

I immediately called the property managers and asked about the incident and they told me that the person who lives there lost a family member and that what happened didn't happen on the property.

Then I call the police and ask them and they tell me they are still investigating it and can't tell me anything about it.

It's obvious that the property owners don't want people knowing if something like this happened on their property and I've heard that PTC doesn't want people thinking that something like this could even happen in PTC.

Being new to PTC and having a family of 4 I'm starting to get the impression that there is a big differnce between crime in PTC and accounted crime. I don't get a good feeling about the whole situation.

Nobody has heard a thing about this since it happened: no newspaper reports, no tv or radio, nothing! It's really being kept quite.

I have the impression that everyone involved is covering it up: AMLI so they can rent apartments and PTC so they can attract business.

When I first moved here I had the impression things were too "stepford wives-ish" to be true and now I'm starting to get an idea why.

I think the residents of a community have the right to know what's happening in their community so they can make an informed decision about remaining in the community or not. It's not the police's or the property manager's decision tell us nothing happened or that it doesn't concern us.

Submitted by skyspy on Mon, 08/06/2007 - 9:25pm.

Where do you think you are?

I understand your disappointment. I moved here to be safe. I honestly did not want to have to buy a gun to be safe in my own home. If most of what goes on here was in the news we would not be able to ask outrageous prices for our homes. The realtors and developers here have made a killing based on half truths. Sounds like you figured it out alot quicker than I did. If you work downtown you might want to look at Alphretta/Sandy Springs area. They have some of the same problems, but they have the right number of cops to deal with it. Good Luck.

While we are dispelling urban myths John what happened with the armed robbery in Wiltshire dollar store? Did they ever catch him? I bet not since he took off on the cart paths.(no chance of running into a cop there) He probably used the gravel road behind Morallion Hills that goes to hwy. 74. Mostly I only see druggies and kids with no cart numbers back there. Like today. some real "gems" came out of the woods in a maroon cart with no tag. It's a shame drunk-squirrel-shooter-man was sleeping in, maybe he would have scared the druggies away, or tagged one....whatever

Are you kidding me? The police are not here to give YOU information via the phone whenever you want it. You want that kind of access, get a badge. Until then, if you are so starved for information, go up to the Police Station and request a copy of the report. They are required/and more than willing to give it to you for a small fee. Do some work and research before you post mindless rants from now on. It is your fault for not knowing how to do things properly.

I'd say your post is the "mindless" one; if you can't participate in a community forum objectively then you shouldn't participate at all. You're the kind that make these discussions juvenile and "mindless".

If you're so worried that the local police haven’t taken the time to keep you informed about who might have committed suicide and under what circumstances’ it may or may not have occurred; why don't you go down to the police station, with a little cash, and under the "Open Records Act" request any and all police reports that may or may not exist for an incident that may or may not have happened.

What business is it of yours or anyone else’s if someone committed suicide?

Do you also hang out at the Kroger checkout so you can keep up on all the "impotent" news from the Inquirer and Star?

I think I understand now, you haven't got your daily dose of Hollywood blond bimbo drives drunk lately and are in withdraw. Is that it?

NOW, we can let it go. No need for names and details, just the fact that it was a suicide, not a murder.

No you don’t. What perverted, twisted and/or narcissistic afflictions do you have?

If it was a suicide, you’re not “entitled” to know anything about it.

The families’ right to privacy far exceeds your ghoulish desire to pry into someone else’s business.

I have no doubt that you believe the PTCPD routinely covers up murders all the time to protect the profits of the local business owners and real estate companies of the community.

Narcissistic personality disorder diagnostic criteria

At least five of the following are necessary for a diagnosis (as with many DSM diagnoses, they must form a pervasive pattern; for example, a person who shows these criteria only in one or two relationships or situations would not properly be diagnosed with NPD):

1. has a grandiose sense of self-importance
2. is preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success, power, brilliance, beauty, or ideal love
3. believes that he or she is "special" and unique and can only be understood by other special people
4. requires excessive admiration
5. strong sense of entitlement
6. takes advantage of others to achieve his or her own ends
7. lacks empathy
8. is often envious or believes others are envious of him or her.
9. arrogant affect

Was I right, or did I miss a few?

A murder/suicide sounds like a personal problem to me -- not a community problem.

Submitted by don5887 on Thu, 08/09/2007 - 2:15pm.

As a new resident of PTC and a husband and father of 2, I certainly want to know a few things: what kind of community my family is living in; is there a gun problem; drug problem; crime problem that are being covered up for economic reasons? How am I to know that that particular part of town is a "bad part" or not?

The only question that needs to be answered is: if everything is in order, why is everbody keeping so quite about it? It seems very unusual to me.

Somebody mentioned that a sucide is a personal problem; I say: not when it happens in a public place. A suicide in a public place means a gun in a public place where me and my children might be.

I thought I could get some helpful input here about PTC but you guys seem more interested in a pissing contest then a discussion forum.

Why hasn't the paper reported anything? I also heard that a kid overdosed at Lake Kedron a few weeks ago - and there has been nothing reported about that either. This isn't Pleasantville people!! Why aren't we getting our news!

I am appalled that a local restaurant can condone the theft from an employee's purse by another employee. Clearly caught on tape, the offender was seen taking an item out of the "victim's" purse. After hearing that this employee would not be terminated, the "victim" resigned on principal; as well she should have. Shame on you, Chaps Restaurant. You have lost many loyal customers.

If you want to grab a fast lunch,no questions about extra lemons and get the proper change back,go to Chic-fil-a. There you will also find employees with manners, cleanliness and an eagerness to please. By the way, Wendy's isn't so bad either!

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Wed, 05/30/2007 - 7:50am.

If one has a need for one extra lemon (which I doubt) then I see no problem except it is extra work for the staff.
However, those better than the general public people (a few whom I have eaten with at times) who want something special about every item on their choice really slay me.
To start with, the cheapies want to know if they can have a half order at half price or some such, or "just what do you have at a bar gin?"
Then they want the vegetables to be a certain mixture (no broccoli or onions)and of course a double serving of dressing, on the side, not mixed in.
The meat must be fresh, and they ask as if the waiter would have a faint idea about it, and when he or she says "yes" then they want it so thick and done in a way which takes 3-4 sentences to describe, and of course, no dusting or bottle stuff on it while cooking---bring me the bottles--all of them.
And, "what kind of bread do you have? When will the next fresh batch be ready? Hold my meal until it just comes out of the oven and then bring it immediately with non diary butter, so I can eat it while you get my platter ready (heated plate, please).
Is the pasta al dente? To me, not you madam. Bring a test string, please.
When I empty my tea, I will look around and wave to you wherever you are and please come right away as I need liquid often with my meal.
There is no way you will meet half my demands so $1 tip is what you get, in pennies.

WOW! I just had another major moment at a major Dept store (Kohl's)! The employees are unfriendly (normally not) AND they expected me to move out of their way, there was no excuse me, just a look and then standing there perturbed! The cashier read a card I picked up for an occassion and I had it so all she had to do was scan and bag! She turned it over and read the cover of it! There were even customers in the store who would brush on by and still not one excuse me! What is the matter with you all? Is the problem that you were not taught any manners growing up, or is it too much to utter an 'Excuse Me'? i have not walked out of there this upset in a long long time and shame on management for not holding 'customer service' meetings on occassion. The employees obviously do not care for their jobs, so get rid of them! I will seriously be considering going else where and believe me I have been a huge spender at your store!
Manners are not difficult or even a smile, my dog has more manners than some of the employees.
REPEAT AFTER ME: 'Excuse Me', a please would be followed nicely, but not asking for miracles!

I don't know whom I resent the most: those who need a considerable space around them for their Karma to operate, and those who deliberately bang into everyone, as if they didn't exist, and don't even seem to know what they are doing, it is so usual for them.
I really don't have very much trouble even in a crowded place because I look around and assist in providing a way by, usually.
As to the cash register clerk, I'm afraid many are simply oblivious to the customer and just refuse to recognize them as being there by a smile or a nod, or something.
I will say that some people, a few, have a distinct paranoia about not being asked to move as a special favor.

Well while I was waiting, I looked at the receipt and noticed that the cashier rang up the order wrong and overcharged me $8! (I didn't notice it sooner because like I said it was a big order.) I tried explaining to her what the problem was but she kept insisting I was wrong even after I showed her the prices! I had to wait 10 minutes (or more -- it was a very long time and the food was getting cold) for a manager to come and she gave me my $8 back though very unwillingly. And she acted like I did something wrong asking for MY money back! Needless to say I haven't and won't be going back! Horrible, horrible service!

Well Leaders of Tyrone, get ready for more lawsuits. You've been told over and over again about the lack of another entrance/exit to Shamrock Industrial Park and that it was detrimental to those in the park. Yesterday, no one could leave or come into the park for over 7 hours due to the accident on the tracks. What if there was a fire or an ambulance was needed? We are sick of your lack of compassion for your citizens and business owners. When are you all going to wake up? I am sure if it was your wallets that were being hit you would be concerned. What do we have to do to get rid of Barry Amos? He is the root to all of the Town's problems. Wake up Sheryl Lee, Paul Letourneau and Mike Smola.

Submitted by tobybob on Fri, 07/27/2007 - 2:33pm.

Someone has filed a heavy hitting lawsuit this week against Tyrone, specifically calling out Barry Amos, Sheryl Lee, Valerie Fowler, Ginger Blackstone and the rest of the planning commission as well as all the town council. I went to the Fayette County Courthouse and read the lawsuit.....IT IS AWESOME. You should contact Ben Nelms at the Citizen for more information - he has a copy of the lawsuit, from what I understand.

Who really knows Barry Amos anyway? He does not live in Tyrone but Peachtree City - why would Tyrone residents want a non-resident running their town? Someone told me Barry was married, but I have seen him several times hand in hand with Valerie.....what's going on there? Also, does anyone know who gave the Town of Tyrone an easement over on Palmetto Road in exchange for special spot zoning treatment? - that is illegal!! A few more questions: Where is Burt Clark? He seems to have stepped into the shadows after threatening to build metal buildings on the Palmetto Road property if he did not get his zoning......Where are you Burt, running scared?

More importantly - we are Georgians! Our heritage is steeped in protecting private property rights from unreasonable governmental intrusion (taken from the aforementioned lawsuit). We don't allow ourselves to be run over in the way Barry and his posse are doing. What is wrong with everybody? Come on and get rid of Barry Amos- let's use our power as the people for whom our government was built....you know - by the people, for the people and of the people. Someone needs to tell Barry about this because he thinks he can do anything he wants. Guess what Barry - you can't!!

Submitted by tobybob on Thu, 07/26/2007 - 1:05pm.

There have been several more lawsuits filed since March - check out the records in the Fayette County Superior Court records room...... What is it going to take to get Barry out of office?? HELLO???? I sure am glad that there is an election coming up because the Mayor is the ultimate responsible party and she has not done her job. Mayor Lee has allowed Barry Amos to run all over private property owners in Tyrone. Why, one might wonder, would she allow such to happen??? Could it be that she is involved in some sort of conspiracy aimed at taking private property for private redevelopment?? Just a thought!

ShameonTyrone is correct! The town is leaving itself open to lawsuits, and more importantly, lives may be lost due to the lack of another exit. Sometime in 2006 (exact date unknown) the tracks were torn up by a truck crossing the railroad tracks restricting access/egress to Shamrock Industrial Park. Again, this Sunday, the entrance to the park was closed for maintenance, causing those working that day (Yes, some do work on Sundays) to either cancel their work or to find alternate ways to and from their work/home. And again, last night, another truck ripped up track causing a long delay (7 hours?) in either entering or leaving this area. The Tyrone Alliance has repeatedly warned of these situations and has notified Tyrone's Mayor and Council. Ref: the following that was presented to Council on 3/15/07.
"3/15/2007 Update: Ref: Tyrone Town Mgr's letter to Mayor & Council, Subj: TNA Item # 1, dated 2/28/07. While we have empathy for the plight of the Mr. Guthrie as described in Mr. Amos's letter, we feel that holding Mr. Guthrie and Shamrock Industrial Park hostage may not be in Tyrone's best interest. By restricting further development, the safety issues that may affect hundreds of people working there, because of their inability to exist safely, continues. And, the additional costs to these businesses, because of delays entering or leaving the area, is adding costs for many of the businesses operating in Shamrock Industrial Park. It is our contention that the purpose of government is to serve and protect the citizens within their purview. In addition, restricting further development thwarts future tax collections from entities not selecting Tyrone as a business location. We are not sure how the insurance company insuring Tyrone would look upon this situation and, or if, Tyrone would be held partially liable for any personal injury or property destruction occurs due to the inability of emergency service to respond in a timely manner. Tax payers of Tyrone would like to know."
Tyrone's spending money ($1.5 million on Handley field) on recreation, thousands of dollars on a library in bids over projections, lack of planning for the increased cost of maintaining the library, a $487,000 shortfall in the budget, Triangle Park, etc. is going to cost the Tyrone citizens a large tax increase. A viable plan to develop this second entrance/exit needs to be put high on the Town's agenda. This, in turn, will help build our industrial/commercial base in Shamrock Industrial Park.

Steve Harris really needs to say things to himself before he says them out loud. He supported the law in a very honorable manner for so long, but now, he's turned his back on it. He wants the courts to split hairs between illegal aliens and undocumented aliens, all in the arguement to lower the bail and possibly allow his client to escape the very justice he once supported. What oils the wheels? Money or justice; the desire to win at any cost or the rule of law. We, who supported you, deserve clarification. Lift your profession above the mud, don't join those who sully it.

For who ever said the following, "For all you student town planners out there, Tyrone is in the midst of building a shining example of how NOT to create a public park. First they killed off the mature hardwood trees, then they erected mammoth signs that look like oversized tombstones, and now they’ve put in lights on steroids that make the “park” look like a landing strip. All this for a mini-park bordered by high-traffic streets, while the safely located, large park that everyone uses sits down the street in need of improvements. Whose idea was this, anyway?"

That absolutely cracks me up. You are so right on. Those landing strip lights are going to kill someone. Who designed that park anyway? Like you said, why aren't those efforts going toward Shamrock Park with the funds that the Town received from the County? How long do we have to use the funds from the County before they take it back? Are they, Lee, Smola and Letourneau not wanting to spend money on the park in hopes of using it for a new town hall still?

No dog in this fight but I agree, that park is butt ugly. Did those landing lights come from an airport salvage store, or off the wreckage of an alien UFO? A few pink flamingos and the look will be complete! Beam me up Scottie!

I've noticed quite a few comments in this paper in the past few weeks about there only being two firefighters in the fire trucks in fayetteville.I couldn't help but notice this weekend that I saw fayetteville's ladder truck with only ONE person on it.What are my tax dollars paying for?The city council in fayetteville needs to address this because it seems I'm not the only one concerned with the lack of public safety in the city.I know they respond to quite a few calls, heck I see them in the county as much as I do in the city.Who is in charge of this department and are they looking into this?

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Mon, 02/26/2007 - 7:27am.

One guy driving a firetruck means nothing! He may be taking it somewhere for repair. He may be going to aid at a fire with ten other guys in other vehicles. A hundred reasons.
All this gibber jabber about how many in a truck and how many respond is coming from the fact that the general public doesn't understand how the department staffs the stations and how they respond to a fire or car wreck, etc.
Why don't we understand? We are usually only given PART of the facts when we ask! You have to ask each specific question for an answer.
I noticed one explanation the other day as: a certain "division" of the department (I think this was police) has so many people doing such and such. (They have numerous divisions)
(What people need to know in order to provide more or better support is: what does everyone do, and how many, in any given circumstance?
None of this information is life threatening!
If there are 75 people on the payroll (warts and all), tell us what all 75 do, say on Monday, when there is a call to a fire. How many are off work? How many ae on vacation, How many are sick, how many occupy a desk, how many occupy a phone, how many do filing, how many mop the floor and clean the coffee pot,(it has to be done) how many are senior officers; and then tell us about Tuesday, etc. We aren't stupid. We have a right to know, and will understand the facts.
Now I expect to hear how some of us hate cops and firemen, but all I want to do is pay them 40% more and expect more. They deserve it and want it.

I know many firefighters, medics & cops who protect the county. Let me say that they are the best people you would ever want to meet. I feel sad knowing that they are sent out to risk their lives with less than adequete staffing because people are trying to keep their budgets down. A small house fire in Atlanta brings 35 fireman within 5 minutes. In Fayetteville you get 2. I feel sad for those guys who risk their lives & work to protect us. The Fayetteville city councel has approved a new station & new firemen but Fire Chief Alan Jones turned it down. He said it was not needed. Maybe He does not want to do the work to make it happen. Could he get off his I-Pod long enough to budget it???? All 3 of the departments in Fayette County are working their butts off understaffed while the administration of the departments are playing golf. You as citizens must take action to get rid of these substandard fire officers who snore as thier employees are risking their lives!!!!! Ask this question.....Why is Chief Jones from Fayetteville turning down resourses when his fireman are overworked & in danger and having to call Fayette County for help. Who's payroll is he on????? Could someone explain why Chief Jones told the Fayetteville city councel that we did not need help.......this guy needs to be looked at!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even see your posting before I submitted mine.If the problem is with the fire chief's in the city, then maybe we need new fire chief's that will bring our fire department's staffing's up to par.I am really concerned that other small cities in Georgia have more than two people on a fire truck.Fayetteville seems to be growing at such a fast pace, and their are so many people from other counties always in our town. Can anyone tell me why there is only one person on Fayetteville's ladder truck? It just seems like a waste to have such a large and probably expensive truck with only one person on it, and how many people does it actually take to operate it?I would like to know more about the staffing of our county fire department's, if anyone is listening please reply!

You know "burning", that average citizens do care about having fire and police at their house in minutes after they call. But in reality, few really ever call. They take it for granted that if they ever have to call, help is on the way. Just a fact of life. But with elected officals, that is a different story. They see the need but don't have the guts to raise taxes to protect citizens with fire and police. They are banking on being lucky every time something happens. Then one day it all goes wrong. I dead fireman or police officer, a citizen raped in their own house because their city did not have enough police to patrol. A house that burns to the ground and children die because the fire department did not have enough manpower to fight the fire. And then you will see all of them standing in front of the funeral telling citizens how much of a hero the dead fireman or the police officer was.

I read many times in this paper when a Fire Chief or Police Chief stands up and tells elected officals that they need help. When they are turned down very few from the public ever says a word. The time to pay for elected officals rides on every fire and police call these fine man and woman ride day in and day out.

Next time you see a police or fire funeral on TV, just think how that will look in Fayette County one day. I want you to see the wife or husband of the dead fire or police officer standing there holding their childrens hands. We do take them for granted but not as much as the elected officals that continue to treat them like second class citizens.

Take a second out of your day when you see a police of fire officer, and thank them for all they do and for putting their life on the line for a salary that you or I would not work for. Then write your elected officals and demand they receive better pay and the manpower they need.

Could someone please tell me why fire & emergency services in Fayette County & it's cities are so under staffed. It seems that the county & it's cities have exploded with growth, but the emergency services have not kept up. They have iformation officer's who lie and make us feel safe when we are far from it. There are three fire departments in this county & none of them can handle an emergency on their own. It is a routine for Fayetteville to call Fayette County for help because they do not have enough staff to even handle a small car accident, much less a fire. Fayette County is tying up our ambulances transporting patient's from our hospital & Dr's offices to Atlanta & no one knows what Peachtree City is doing. Fayette County seems to be trying to increase staffing while the City of Fayetteville looks like they are trying to get rid of their department all together. The City of Fayetteville has not increased staffing or stations in ten years even though their city has exploded with growth. It looks like time for our governments to take a look at what their so called fire chiefs are doing!!!! If your house was burning, would you be confortable with two people showing up to rescue your family. In Fayetteville, thats what you get because that's what the fire chief says WILL DO!!!!!!! Thats all we need!!!

Submitted by skyspy on Sun, 02/25/2007 - 5:31pm.

The chiefs both police and fire, and the sheriff, beg for more personnel at council and commision meetings, and they are turned down regularly.

We won't get more emergency personnel, until someone on one of the coucil or commision has a serious emergency. When it is their home or their families involved they will see how important these people are to all of us. Until they have a tragedy of their own they won't care.
But the same goes for all of the citizns who cry about tax increases......everyone wants more service, but nobody wants to pay for it. Until that attitude changes this will stay the same.
There is no free lunch in life and you get what you pay for: if you only pay for one guy on a firetruck or only 3 cops patrolling that's all you will get. Don't pay for a used ford escort and expect to get a mercedes, it won't happen.

To the best of my knowledge it's commonplace to assess the crime/call rate for any public safety agency and ask for increases in manpower accordingly. However, the short and bitter answer to the lack of manpower is that most governments will spend more to appease the general population with saying that it's a brief influx of crime that will go away, or a rare time where there are a lot of medical/fire calls. They do this rather than treat the wound which eventually becomes cancerous and spreads throughout the community. Please don't blame the chiefs unless you have firsthand knowledge that they have not requested manpower, rather blame those in the position to allow the hiring of additional personnel that refuse to do so. They would rather save money by having the same number of personnel handle twice the call volume, and thereby putting the citizens at risk, than to acknowledge that they need more people and would have to raise taxes. They view raising taxes as a sign of weakness in most cases instead of viewing it rationally and realizing that it's a necessity for any community with the exponential growth that Fayette County has experienced over the past ten years. I hope this helps to explain the problems instead of fueling the fire of resentment toward our public safety personnel.

The true horror of this world is not the criminal minds that pursue vile intent. It's the apathetic view by those who stand idly by and point fingers without the will and courage to act.

Good job citizen's of Tyrone. Way to go by showing up to the meeting and allowing our voices to be heard. Now we need to make sure the Mayor and Council hear our voices. I am extremely disappointed that Mayor Sheryl Lee, Councilman's Smola and Letourneau did not attend the meeting. The impact of the proposed Old Town Tyrone project would impact the citizens more than Wieland's PUD. I can't even imagine what could have been more important that they couldn't attend. Thank you Councilwoman Caldwell and Furr for showing yet again that you care about our community.

Why is our public safety organizations understaffed? Should we feel safe at night or when or love ones are home alone? The City Of Fayetteville Fire Department has a total of 5 personnel protecting a city with a sleeping population of 12,000 to 15,000 and Piedmont Fayette Hospital with two fire stations, Were the City Of Fairburn have at least 8 to 10 personnel protecting a city with a sleeping population of 4000 to 5000 with only one fire station. Fayetteville Fire Department has more pieces of apparatus than they do people on a single shift. Also I have noticed that every time you see a city white fire truck go somewhere you always see a county red one. But not to just go against the city because the county is just as bad. My neighbor’s house burned and every truck from the county that pulled up only had two people on it and before all was done they had over six trucks there just to get the amount of people that was needed. I wonder how safe the rest of the county was with everyone committed to that fire. I started to look in to all this because of a friend that use to work for the county and has recently quit for in his words to "go work for a real department." informed me of the conditions. Now I will be honest in that my friend is a little partial in that he works for the county and was not too fond of the Fayetteville Fire Department. Me personally have nothing against the city department I actually did not even know that they existed till my friend told me. I always thought that there was only one together department. My friend also gave me some disturbing statistics in how he was on calls where a person was not breathing and had no heart beat, and they stayed on scene for almost 30 mins with a hospital only a few mins. up the road. I am no doctor or anything but I thought when you called a ambulance that they were to check you out on the way to the hospital and to get you to where a doctor could see you. Hope something could change soon after talking to him I’ am concerned for my family, but do know and respect those that do work for our local public safety organization, they do the best they can with what they have. Im sure there the best people in the world in the field but do wish they had more of them there. Thanks for You Time.

How many people knew about this and kept it under wraps to protect one of the "in people" ??? This happened a month ago. How many local cops and sheriff's deputies knew about this raid? You know that The Citizen would have run the story, just like they do with all these people, if they had known. What if a Town Manager is ticketed for drunkeness in public, splashing alcohol around----not much happens----job safe.
What happens when a female astronaut tries to kill another woman by stalking her like a tigress? Not much, she is shuttled around like someone more important, not much will happen.
What happens when a woman kills her five children by drowning them one at a time in a bathtub? Not much, she is a mixed up female, it's ok. Treat her awhile.
What happens when a pastor's wife shoots him with a shotgun and runs? Not much: see article just above.
What happens when a congressman takes advantage of pages homosexually and verbally in congress? Not much, he goes to rehab.
What happens to a Pastor in a huge church who gets cured of homosexuality in three weeks? Not much, he is a pastor.

EyeonFayette, if it is Valerie Fowler's husband that would explain why she can't seem to locate any agenda items to have a council meeting. Looks like her house was searched, seems to me she would have known this was going on in her own home. I would love to see what else the Feds found in her house. I bet Barney is scared.

I think everyone will start showing up for the town council/planning meeting of Tyrone just to see what is going on...if you live in a glass house you shouldn't throw rocks at the citizens...and it seems someone through the years has emptied a rock quarry on them. The tired, poor and helpless, all have been treated with indifference, and calousness, you are never a good person till you help someone that can't help themselves, much less, has paid your salerie with their hard earned, meager taxes. I'm sorry for what happened, but it is in no way anyone in Tyrone's fault...nor should their be any simpathy...

You are a sad person. You know nothing about Mrs. Fowler and this horrible situation. It is one thing to poke fun at local politicians and complain announmously, but it is cowardly to say such things about someone in her situation. I guess your employer or your family knows you spend your day on the computer posting childish rants???? Do they? I have enough trouble trying to monitor what my kids are viewing on the internet and the things they can hide from me much less a grown man.

Yes I am sad Glomar, thanks for your concern. It is truly a sad day when children are exploited and are victims of a crime as it appears some were by William Fowler. You call it poking fun at politicians, but quite frankly I never knew Valerie Fowler was a politician. She very well could have been as she does talk out of both sides of her mouth. She chose the job in the public spot light. She is the one that through the years has placed the citizens of Tyrone on the hot seat and placed them in some of the positions they are and have been in. As far as my employer or family goes, I’ll keep an eye on them and don’t you worry yourself about that, seems to me that you have a hard enough time worrying about your own family.

Submitted by Glomar on Thu, 02/08/2007 - 3:23pm.

Lets see. Did I say anything acout this not being horrible for children?....no I did not. Your article was not addressed to, or about, Bill Fowler or the horrible things he stands accused of doing. It was unfounded comments about Valeri Fowler. If you want to poke fun at her about how she does her job outside the context of what she is suffering through right now...that is fine. I have no problem with that. That is not what you did. You are a tasteless coward. It is that simple. Anyone can hide from their spouse what they are doing on the internet. I cannot believe I'm wasting my time responding to folks like you. I know Valerie Fowler as a person...not as a clerk. She does not deserve this kind of vicousness. Someone told me idiots like you were saying horrible things about her on this waste of time website. I'm gone...going to use my time more wisely and pray for Val and the victims.

Submitted by beaumont on Thu, 02/08/2007 - 3:36pm.

Glomar, I truly don't think that Valerie Fowler has or is suffering over what her husband has been accused of doing. I don't feel sorry for her. If she was so concerned about her marriage and husband then I don't think she would have been spending so much time in the company of Barry Amos after work hours. That isn't gossip, that is fact. So, truth be told, yes, prayers need to be prayed, for the victims of William Fowler. Not Valerie Fowler. She is a grown woman and if she had been more concerned with what was going on in her home and/or husband, then she would have known what he was up to. I'm still not sure she didn't.

When I first read this, I thought it was too horrible to comment on, but beaumont didn't say anything wrong. There has been a lot of very important things lost, forgot, etc, just to name a few..vital input about the impact on the schools if an office park was build between them, another issue, a man got up at town hall and stated he had been after important doc from the town for over a year, and his final attempt was comming to the meeting n asking for them. I had a similar experience. This is not acceptable. You are trying to turn this around as to who is the victim here and that is also not acceptable. If you don't want it in the papers, don't do it.
