The annual Blue Christmas Service will be held at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church on Monday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. All are welcome, but the service is especially for those who have suffered a loss this year and anyone having difficulty facing the holidays.

During the weekend of Oct. 20 – 22 approximately 80 volunteers from Fayetteville First United Methodist Church, Landmark Christian School, Fairburn, and other metro Atlanta churches worked to provide housing for two Pass Christian, Miss., families displaced by Hurricane Katrina in August 2005.

On Saturday, Nov. 18, The Clayton Community Big Band will perform as part of the 2006 – 2007 Concert Series hosted by Fayette Presbyterian Church. The 20-member jazz ensemble is comprised of Clayton State University music students and community members from the surrounding Clayton County area.

Fayette Community Church in Fayetteville continues to collect cell phones for the soldiers in the Middle East. Between Fayette Community Church and Uniglobe McIntosh Travel in Newnan, the group has collected more than 1,000 phones to be recyled. So far, the nationwide program has sent 50,000 prepaid phones cards to the soldiers in Iraq, Afganistan and Kuwait.
