Stop road rage: Get out of the left lane
By CAL BEVERLY

After all these years of undiagnosed road rage, I'm finally outing myself: I get angry at some drivers.

July 16 in PTC: Welcome to water wars?
By DENNIS CHASE

Everything you ever wanted to know about water, wastewater treatment and watershed management is about to be delivered to you in three pretty reports. At least that is what the Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District would have you believe. I suggest, however, when you attend their public meeting next Wednesday, July 16, you view their "dog and pony show" with serious skepticism.

Unless unconscious or off the planet, you've surely heard the news of the United States Supreme Court's rulings handed down last month in two cases that have already produced a Niagara of comment.

Golf cart ruling: What's big deal? Ignore the ban

I can't understand what the big fuss is about 15-year-olds driving golf carts.

State can't have it both ways: Reinstate golf cart tax credit

In all the hoopla that has been raised over the past couple of weeks about needing a drivers license to drive a cart, one issue has been overlooked.

Golf cart ruling by court seems ironic given Fayette's air quality challenges

It is with great interest and dismay I write to you regarding the state's ruling requiring drivers' licenses for golf cart operation.

Cart ban punishes innocents

It has come to my attention that local citizens of Peachtree City are not allowed to operate a golf cart unless they are licensed drivers. I myself am at the age of 14 where I enjoy driving to stores or just plain driving around with parental supervision. I enjoy being able to go out and drive the golf cart with my mom, dad, and even the whole family.

15 too early for most drivers

As a 15-year resident of Peachtree City I wonder what the proponents of 15-year-olds driving golf carts by themselves were thinking.

Tested 15s are ready for cart

I have already written to my local government concerning the ruling and informed them that their action or non-reaction will be a deciding factor next election.

Ruling hurts ill, handicapped

I wanted to give my input to the state's ruling on golf carts. My neighbor is a single mother of three; she has multiple sclerosis. Her daughter will be 15 in August.

After great parade, let's support Battle of Bands

By all estimates, the parade involvement figures were probably the largest in the city's history. Special recognition goes to Susan Taylor from our city staff for her heroic effort as our parade coordinator. Governor Perdue was very impressed by the large showing and the large number of golf carts that were utilized by the spectators and parade entrants.

Prevent boat dock nastiness

We have an opportunity to prevent a tragedy in Peachtree City and a black eye on our community's name.

Cat chaos ensues when owners abandon animals

Irresponsible pet owners are causing problems for us citizens that do give a damn. In August 2002 my wife and I returned from a week out of town only to find a feline and her four kittens under my restored car.

Column breath of fresh air

Thank you, John Thompson, for your column regarding ruling of the U.S. Supreme Court overturning sodomy laws. I'm not familiar with your writing or your political views, but I just assumed before reading it that the article would be negative on the issue.

State needs coordinator for character education

My husband and I are a retired Army chaplain's family which has been called in to the character building business wherever we find ourselves. We were both able to contribute to the U.S. Army Chaplaincy's "Moral Leadership Manual" before retiring from active duty. We have tried to "fight the fight and run the race" by observing moral education around the world and by encouraging people to do the moral thing in their everyday lives.

Let kids believe in Potter's world while they are able

In reply to Chris Turner's letter that likened a harmless children's novel to that of a stepping stone towards moral bankruptcy, I must firmly contend against the opinion he supports of suffocating adolescent imagination in order to preserve Christianity.

Reported charges now dropped

Just wanted to let you know that all charges against Jacob Marullo and Joseph Bates have been dropped due to lack of evidence.
