Starr's Mill wins South Metro, Tiger grapplers place second

Starr's Mill won the South Metro Invitational, a 26-team wrestling meet. The Panthers scored 270 points, Fayette County was second with 205 points and Henry County was third with 204.5 points.

Starr's Mill swimmers continue to swim well

The Starr's Mill Panthers swim team continued to look strong in the pool by beating Cherokee High, Sandy Creek High and the Upson-Lee Knights at the Kedron Aquatic Center last Friday.

Lady Tigers dominate end of year softball awards

Though the softball season ended over a month ago, accolades continue to pour in for the state champion Fayette County High School Lady Tigers.

Basketball teams head into holiday break

Most of the local basketball players have something bigger than a regional oponent to face before they start Christmas break: exams. Only McIntosh was scheduled to play last night, while the rest of the county high schools took the night off. Several teams will play in holiday tournaments though, which are scheduled to start tomorrow.

SCAT swims well at two meets

SCAT swimmers placed second overall at the Marietta Marlins Invitational this past weekend, even without the help of some outstanding teammates who were competing at the Dalton Jingle Bell Classic the same weekend. Most of SCAT's senior squad also took the weekend off in preparation for this weekend's Senior State Championships.
