Time to gear up for home maintenance

Spring is nearly gone and summer is almost here, which means it's time for a thorough, semi-annual maintenance check of your home. Doing a few chores now, will help ensure you'll live more comfortably throughout the summer months.

 

Swim-tennis communities offer value, convenience for families
As summer is nearly here (officially, anyway; ask any kid just out of school and you'll find out it's really here already), much more attention is turned to the swimming pools and tennis courts of Fayette and surrounding counties.

Wieland donates bamboo for pandas

John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods is donating the large growth of bamboo discovered at the site of its new Centannial neighborhood in Peachtree City to Zoo Atlanta. The bamboo will not only benefit the zoo's famous giant pandas Lun Lun and Yang Yang but the zoo's elephant community as well.

In order to control some of the anxiety that comes along with buying a new home, builders often recommend that homebuyers shop as much for their builder as they will for the furniture that goes inside their new home. Consumer advocates go so far as to recommend that buyers talk to the neighbors already living in a community in order to gauge their satisfaction ratings before buying.

Saving for a down payment

Saving for a down payment is a challenging step to becoming a home owner. According to Fannie Mae's 2001 National Housing Survey, 16 percent of Americans are currently saving money in hopes of achieving the American dream.

Swan Lake sites going fast

Only 26 homesites remain available in The Woods @ Swan Lake, Meyer-Sutton Homes' lake and beach community in the Stockbridge area of Henry County.

John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods is now taking priority reservations for its newest neighborhood in Peachtree City, Governors Row at Lexington. An enclave of 28 home sites, Governors Row will be priced from the mid $300s and offer sidewalks throughout and a quaint neighborhood park.
