New faces in new places in local real estate

Ronald J. Bender is a new agent with the McDonough/Henry County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty.

A McDonough resident, Bender has been married for seven years to his wife Maria. He is currently in the U. S. Army assigned to the MP Co., LEA. He is scheduled to retire from the military on Aug. 1.

Phil Born is a new sales associate with the Jonesboro/Clayton County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty.

Born received his pre-licensing training at Georgia MLS and his post-licensing training at Coldwell Banker Bullard.

A Rex resident, he is married to Karen Born, and they have one daughter, Krysten, 18, who is a student at the State University of West Georgia.

Born is a member of The Rock Baptist Church, the Tara Winds Adult Concert Band and the Southern Aires Big Band Orchestra. He is also an avid golfer.

Frank Dennis has joined the McDonough/Henry County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty as a sales associate.

Dennis, who has an associate degree in computer engineering, has 15 years of experience in customer service. A Henry County resident, he has three children, Patrick, 18; Ashley,14; and Kaitlin, 10.

Carol J. Harvey, a well-known member of the Griffin and Spalding County community, has joined the Griffin/Spalding County office of Coldwell Banker Bullard Realty as a sales associate.

Ms. Harvey, who has been in real estate for just over one year, received her training through the Georgia MLS and The Kennedy Center for Real Estate Education, and she has completed a number of seminars, including "Fundamentals of Becoming a Professional Builder Representative" and "Techniques for New Home Sales." She has been a member of the Fayette County Board of Realtors, and she is transferring her membership to the Heart of Georgia Board of Realtors and the Metro South Association of Realtors.

Prior to entering real estate, she operated a home-based business for seven years. She formerly was manager of a State Farm Insurance agency, and she has been a networking director, a bridal consultant, and a Primerica Financial Services representative.

Harvey currently serves as chairperson of the Griffin-Spalding County Board of Education, and she chairs the Hospitality Ministry at New Hope Baptist Church in Griffin. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, music, plays, antiques and spending time with her grandchildren and other family members.

A Griffin resident, she has one daughter, Shundy, who is married to David Palmore; and two granddaughters, Chakari Harris and Joi Palmore.

Lisa King recently joined Homestar Mortgage Services as a loan officer in the company's Peachtree City office.

She has been in the mortgage industry for more than 10 years, most recently as a loan officer with Chase Manhattan Mortgage Corp. A member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, she has received its Gold, Diamond and Platinum awards consecutively since 1993, honoring her mortgage production and continuing education within the industry.

King is a member of the Fayette County Board of Realtors and the Home Builders Association of Midwest Georgia.

An active member of the community, King supports Habitat for Humanity and attends Providence United Methodist Church. She resides in Fayetteville with her two children, Ashley and Haley, and nephews Dallas and Justin.

Griffin Financial Services, which has its offices in Fayetteville, has announced that Joscelin Mackey is now a loan officer with the company. She has been in the mortgage loan business for eight years.

Prior to that, she was in banking for six years in Washington, D.C., and in the Atlanta area. She has attended the University of the District of Columbia, where she majored in psychology, and Georgia State University, where she majored in finance.

Now a resident of Clayton County, Mackey grew up in Washington, D.C. She is married to Ricardo Mackey, and they have two daughters, Kelly, 2, and Valerie, 8; and one son, Edward, 10.

Lori Owens is a new loan officer with Griffin Financial Services, which has its offices in Fayetteville.

A native of Michigan, she has lived in Georgia for 25 years and moved to Fayette County two and one-half years ago. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she first taught school in Mexico and is fluent in English and Spanish.

She has 14 years of experience in customer relations in the telecommunications industry, working as national accounts manager, operations manager and project manager for Fortune 500 accounts.

She is married to Steve Owens, and she has one son, Brandon Hernandez, 8.

Jack Stillman, a veteran loan officer, now represents Griffin Financial Services in the Newnan and Coweta County area.

A naive of Virginia, Stillman has lived in Georgia since 1974 and has resided in White Oak for the past three years.

Involved in consumer lending since 1963, he has previously worked in the industry in Virginia, Florida, and Illinois, and he was associated with Fairfield Financial in Henry County prior to joining GFS. Fairfield Financial is now a sister company of GFS.
