Employers
really need to recognize the true value of their employees
By DAVID EPPS
Pastor
In the course of
my life I've been an employee and I've been an employer. I have made
mistakes as both. As a pastor and priest, I've watched literally thousands
of people over the years that fit into one or the other of those roles.
But one of the curiosities of that observation has been that many employers
have a great deal of difficulty keeping top-notch employees. Many of
them make a point of finding, recruiting, hiring, and training the best
and are later disappointed and even bitter that those top performers
have left them.

Last week I went
to my favorite restaurant for lunch. I sat down at my usual table, the
in the front next to the large picture window and placed my order. While
waiting for the food to come, I looked out the window at the children
playing in the park across the street. Three boys about seven or eight
years old were playing tag, wrestling with each other and playing in
the dirt.
