Expect traffic slowdowns at 54/74 this weekend By JOHN MUNFORD jmunford@TheCitizenNews.com To improve traffic flow at the intersection of Ga. highways 54 and 74 in Peachtree City, motorists are going to have to deal with a little more of it in the evening and early morning hours Friday and possibly Saturday. That's when contractors are scheduled to pave the intersection of Hwy. 54 and Huddleston Road, the bridge over the CSX Railroad and the intersection of Hwys. 54 and 74. City officials are warning motorists they may experience significant delays during the construction. The work will begin Friday at 7:30 p.m., ending at 7 a.m. Saturday morning. If necessary, crews will continue work Saturday evening. The schedule was negotiated by the city in hoes of minimizing the impact on traffic in the area. The improvements to the highways, which are part of the traffic plan for the Wal-Mart Superstore and Home Depot, are expected to be finished by the end of April. What do you think of this story?
