local schools competed in the LaGrange Cross Country Invitational last
weekend and did well.

County close to capturing area softball championship
The Fayette County
Lady Tiger fast pitch softball team is one step away from winning the
area championship. The Lady Tigers defeated Stockbridge, 6-0 on Wednesday
night on another stellar performance from Bonnie Bynum. The pitcher
recorded 15 strikeouts and gave up two hits in the win. Pamela O'Neal
and Katie Gaspierik had two RBIs each while Ashley Logan and Becky Carder
drove in one run a piece. The Tigers played the winner of the Stockbridge/Eagle's
Landing game yesterday.
